Most Holy Redeemer Parish Staff: Patrick Mulcahey |
||||
![]() |
The atmosphere at MHR can corrupt
good priests and laypeople. We are all sinners. We have no
desire to attack any person, clerical or lay, for the sake
of attacking, but if we are to show the harm caused by the
embracing of homosexuality at MHR, we must tell the
truth. Patrick Mulcahey is a Eucharistic
Minister at Most Holy Redeemer. He is also a past
Vice-President of the Pastoral Council. He is a screenwriter
who figures
prominently in Fr. Donal Godfreys important book Gays
and Grays. |

Mr.
Mulcahey is a past
Vice President of the Most Holy Redeemer Pastoral
Council,
and is currently a Eucharistic
Minister at
MHR. It will be good here to remind ourselves of Church rules. From "Redemptionis Sacramentum" #46 "The lay Christian faithful called to give assistance at liturgical celebrations should be well instructed and must be those whose Christian life, morals and fidelity to the Churchs Magisterium recommend them." Ina
Acuna, the Young Adult representative on the Pastoral
Council credits
Mulcahey
with inspiring the creation of MHRs Young Adult Group
(the same group that attended the San
Francisco Transgender Cotillion
in
January 2007). In
keeping with MHR's history of
gay political activism,
in 2004, Mulcahey served on the Lesbian, Gay
Bisexual, Transgender Advisory Committee of the
San Francisco City & Countys Human Rights
Commission. Go here,

The
items under discussion at these meetings are well worth
reading. On October 23, 2007, Mr. Mulcahey was the moderator at the Society of Janus "Ask the Top (sexual dominant)" discussion in San Francisco: "'Ask the Top', an evening of Q&A with a cross-selection of local personalities on the topping/ dominant/ mastery/ owner side of the SM Power continuum.... This is just one of a number of such events at which Mr. Mulcahey has participated, generally in a leadership role. Google "patrick mulcahey" + leather for other examples.
On October 18, 2008,
Mr. Mulcahey publicly dissented from Archbishop George
Niederauer's stand on Proposition 8 in the pages
of the San Francisco
Chronicle. He also
donated
$150 to the
campaign opposing Proposition 8. On December 2, 2008, Mr. Mulcahey joined Fr. Donal Godfrey, Executive Director of Campus Ministry at the (Jesuit) University of San Francisco at Books, Inc., located in San Franciscos Castro District, in a discussion of Fr. Godfrey's book "Gays and Grays". The homosexualist publication, the Bay Area Reporter, (among others) published a blurb for the event: Executive director of University Ministry at the University of San Francisco, and author of Gays and Grays: The Story of the Gay Community at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church discusses his book and the gay-inclusive parish; writer Patrick Mulcahey joins the discussion." On the very first page of "Gays and Grays" Fr. Godfrey writes: "Three others gave special support. They are Patrick Mulcahey,... (other two names not germane). Patrick Mulcahey is a friend, three time Emmy-winning writer, and parishioner at Most Holy Redeemer." On March 27, 2010 Mr. Mulcahey was photographed attending the Defenders 16th Anniversary party, along with Most Holy Redeemer Litury Planner Mr. David Differding. The owner of the website that published the photos requests that viewers go to his disclaimer page before viewing photos on the site. Please do so here, then, to view one of the photos go here.
On September 3-6,
2010, the website on the "Master/slave
Slave conference 2010"
included Mr. Mulcahey as one of it's workshop presenters.
His participation at the event is covered in full in the
September 3, 2010 California
Catholic Daily. |
